Hi Bloggers
I have just spent some time this morning looking to see if County Council chief executives can be contacted via social media like twitter or facebook.
I was very surprised to see that not one member of the board or there pa at Staffordshire County Council is contactable by the public directly.
This is a problem in modern society if the public feel let down by the complaints departments there is only one available option to them being the Local Government Ombudsman.
In our case although the evidence of failure is high the LGO upheld that there was nothing wrong with the County Councils actions, This decision was a severe failure for accountability.
It can not be highlighted enough that when the evidence is without any question, common sense should be for complaints departments to be transparent and not attempt to ignore valid information.
If I think back to the day I was in a Vulnerable Adult investigation meeting when I was told I had apparently abused and neglected my own grandfather.
After the catalog of false information that was recorded around that one meeting how could any person ever hold trust in social work ever again.
This begs the question should all meetings regarding Vulnerable Adult investigations be digitally recorded because as I perceive this it would create a valid representation of the VA meeting.
I know what was discussed at this important meeting but the record taken did not reflect the event verbatim.
That's my thoughts for the day drop me a e.mails on your views.
