Hi folkes
After doing some research this afternoon I came accros a BASW publication with regard to ethical conduct of Social Workers.
As I have said before we need social workers to protect the young old and disabled in our society this is an
important requirement.
I was also of the opinion that Social Workers should report the truth and document investigated fact
The profession however has its failings and mistakes happen either with malicious intent or by accident
All of those out there that have had to bring a complaint against any individual social worker must always do your utmost to detach your own personal feelings regarding the situation.
This is easier said than done but you have to be reasonable and understanding that the social worker is acting in the best interest of either the child or adult or disabled person not the family or even you.
The big question did the social worker act in the best interest of the individual ?
However if you feel that a social worker or social workers may not have conducted themselves properly or appropriately in either an investigation to protect an individual in there care then you must raise this no matter how much you get either ignored or the information you hold is being dismissed.
It takes a very long time to be noticed but persistence will pay off.
Please read this document as it will show you that what your expectation of conduct should be
however this may not be what you have witnessed.
