Why Independent Investigations Do Not Work

Hi Bloggers

Today I want to discuss why County Councils should not be allowed to investigate themselves.

Over the many years I have witnessed so much internal resistance by all parties involved in my initial complaint to either investigate or promote effective investigation.

Many tricks are utilised from employing so called investigators who are supposed to be impartial and unbiased, to blatant use of false or defamatory information to discredit the complainant.

So when it came to my complaint the answer was simple for Staffordshire County Council.

Ignore, Discredit & Defame

Looking into this in depth.

The County Council are charged with protection for elderly and this is how it should be.

They should Challenge and Protect and uphold the Law.

The problem comes when financial cuts and internal challenges take place within Social Care and the Council itself.

We as humans can make mistakes and social care is one situation where this can happen when A family situation can be misread by one individual with there own personal view.

We are all human Carers & Social Care staff we do make mistakes.

When the County Council were presented with my complaint in full an Independent Investigator was chosen by the County Council.

A Mrs Lisa Elkington-Bourne came and listened to my complaint and then went away to carry out her investigation.

After nearly six months apparently her investigation was done and her findings were wrote up.

The County Council then Reviewed it themselves and agreed with the findings.

The Independent Investigator at no time came back to me to clarify any of her findings before her conclusions.

If the investigator had wanted my view and further evidence then A full and proper independent investigation could have taken place.

This was completely unacceptable and a waste of public money.

Simple research into the writer of the Independent Investigation showed that despite the writer being legally trained she was in a previous position of employment as complaints manager at a local council.

I hold the full opinion that serious failings were covered up and these are only now coming to the surface.

God knows how much more could have been uncovered with a full enquiry.

The original 63 pages of biased investigation are here please note many outcomes have now been changed.
