Just got home after a nice day out in Liverpool with my Mum looking at new fires for her living room.
After having the corgi bloke round to take the fire out we found that the chimney was blocked with at least 3 bags of soot and one very dried out wood pigeon.
It is a miracle that she is still alive.
So after our day out she has chosen a nice new open flame fire to go with wallpaper that is so modern I would never have believed an over 60 would chose LoL.
After everything that we have been through this past few years my Mum has a new outlook on life.
Have what you want, as it will only get stolen by profit making care homes if you need care in old age.
It is never to much to bang on about how important LPA for health and welfare and Financial affairs are.
As we all get older we do not know what life has in store, we would all like to think that when God calls it will be quick but for some they have to suffer Alzheimers and Dementia / Strokes and ill health that can leave you not in control of your own life.
You can get a free LPA/EPA pack from the Office Of The Public Guardian it is free for some but a small price to pay if you have to, This is as important as any Will you will ever write,It allows you to have a say if you cannot act for yourself your family can be involved by law instead of it being ripped from you without just cause and your family being ignored and then been at the mercy of a Social Worker that has known you for a week and will be changed continually.
This is where problems start when little public monies exist.
Our County Councils would have us all beleive that care should be in the community.
Emphasis on returning the elderly to there own homes, Very Commendable
However if you are unfortunate enough to be self funding and have bought a home worked all your life this is where you have gone wrong, If you had gone the pub instead and not saved a penny then all your care costs will be paid By the Taxpayer.
Now to the hard working retired saver if it is going to cost more to provide the quick 15min or half hour visit or god forbid you need it daily remembering that you can not get a care visit from 11 at night until 7am there is only one answer.
If you put someone in a Care Home it then becomes the responsibility of the saver to hand over all there winter fuel payments Attendance allowance and Pension to the Home and that is not the end of it there is then a shortfall of more than £160.00 per week to be paid out as a low price home would at least be £440.00 per week and the nice council do a search of the land registry and levy the savers home for the difference, How Fecking Nice of them.
They do not want Care in The Community as for every elderly infirm person would cost them approx £200.00 and the elderly saver would be able to keep what was rightfully theres.
Councils and social workers will do whatever they want, they will lie and threaten carers family and friends to get what they want they will even create false documents, As in this case.
I had always held social workers as heros and past experiences of being a carer were always good with adequate support & understanding.
Would I ever ask for help again, not on your Nelly. Without the funding and the continual lies and cover ups including wasted investigations that have not uncovered the truth, They are not fit for purpose and completely unfit to protect Children, Adults at Risk or anyone that would ever need help.
You the Family are Nothing
You the Carer are Nothing
Basically you do not exist and your input on the person they are there to protect is irrelevant.
Like I was told my Grandad could "go home and blow himself up if he wanted"
PS Regarding County Council where I was prommised that an investigation would be started, Guess what Nothing absolutly Nothing this Social Worker is out there writting lies near you.
My Promise to my Dad and Granddad is that I will not stop until all this sham behavior by Staffordshire County Council is Exposed in the public interest and that Staffordshire County Council will be the purveyors of there own downfall.
Mid Staffordshire Hospital thought this could all be ignored and it has taken some time but I always believe you cannot hide the truth.
