Hi Folkes
Yet again Friday is upon us and another week has gone by.
Last week I was in a deadlock with the county council as they were as usual playing the game of delay, failed promises and ignorance.
For any of the new readers I have been trying with little success to gain some accountability from the council after they falsely accused me of being a thief.
In November of last year my grandfather past away and various matters have to be organized like bills and closure of the deceased finances.
The matters surrounding my late grandfathers estate are not the reason for my blog as these should always be a private family matter however the recent findings at staffordshire county council have raised my concern.
The concern is that residents in a care home or there own home where the county council are the appointee could be at serious harm of theft and mismanagement of there funds that should be theirs to use.
The issue that has been highlighted to me could be far more damaging to many more elderly people.
The new issue is getting to the bottom of the money that the council have held for my grandfather over the previous 2 years, this is money entrusted to the county council as a financial appointee.
I hold concern that little to no financial provision for daily needs was made by the council and when it was records were not kept accurately and receipts not recorded.
So now to the reason for the post today.
When someone dies a family member or solicitor applies for Grant of Probate or Representation so that all the deceased accounts tax and estate can be resolved and that the instructions of the deceased's will can be carried out.
It is legal responsibility for the person who is granted the probate to ensure that the estate accounts are accurate.
In this case the county council are not being forthcoming with any receipts or transparency of the account however they have provided a figure which they want me to accept without proof, This will not be acceptable.
Over 2 years ago the family solicitor requested an explanation from the county councils of its expenditure for my grandfather, This was not forthcoming then and it appears the same game is in play now.
I hold grave concern to what Staffordshire County Council call Safeguarding.
