How many Trust Boards in England alone in NHS

Hi Folkes

When thinking about the mess our NHS is in, I was wondering how many individual boards there were in England alone.

Here is some interesting information.

NHS organisations

In the NHS there are currently in England (unless stated):
  • 211 clinical commissioning groups (including 198 now authorised without conditions)
  • 160 acute trusts (including 102 foundation trusts)
  • 56 mental health trusts (including 41 foundation trusts)
  • 34 community providers (16 NHS trusts, 2 foundation trusts and 16 social enterprises)
  • 10 ambulance trusts (including 5 foundation trusts)
  • c.8,000 GP practices
  • c2300 hospitals in the UK

There is only one question to ask Why so many management posts with high pay requirments when there are not enough nurses to make our NHS work.

Simply put, Duplicated office space and job roles, unrequired Corporate management vehicles and unnesasarry excesive office space.

Whilst our NHS is suffering there appears to be jobs for management and not for the shop floor.

We do not require Partnerships, we need a fully joined up goverment run NHS with less individual boards.

Steve.
