Hi Folks
I received a call this morning from the Public Health Service Ombudsman and I am very amused.
It Transpires that the Trust and the manager at the Stoke on Trent Partnership Trust complaints department have the opinion that my recent complaint to the PHSO is a similar complaint that has previously been decided on.
I have advised the PHSO regarding the problems being encountered at the Trust and the matter will be ongoing.
Lets break this down.
I raised a complaint against Staffordshire County Council.
The LGO were the decision maker on the complaint.
The LGO ignored the serious matter of Vulnerable Adult Protection by The County Council by changing the case reference half way through the case and refusing to then reopen what they called the old case.
On the new case number that they created the council were found at fault for a various list of less serious events and failings.
Hope you are all still with me.
So Council protected from Safeguarding Failings.
My complaint to the LGO also included the continual ignorance of the County Council to respond or communicate.
Still there ?
So whilst all was being dragged out I started working directly with the NHS Trust and Mr Stuart Poynor.
Mr Poynor decided to carry out a review of how the social care staff had conducted themselves as they had now become employed by the trust and not the County Council.
Many multiple further failings were found including investigations not being carried out and we also became aware that care documents had been falsified by either a care provider or the social worker directly.
Mr Poynor has made direct apology for these further failings
I have requested a written confirmation of the new findings from Mr Poynor directly however immediately all communication ceased.
The Trust have been silent since.
I raised a complaint over six weeks ago stating the following
Why is the Trust is failing to communicate. ?
Where is the written findings ?
The Trust have tried over the previous weeks to shove the complaint to Staffordshire County Council with no success.
The Trust have now advised the PHSO that my complaint with them is similar.
So I need to spell this out.
My only complaint lodged against the trust was for the neglectful care and poor provision for my late grandads, the unnecessary catheterising and sedation including poor food and lack of physio.
The PHSO when attempting to investigate further found that your trust had misplaced all his medical records and that no further action could be taken.
The Trust were found at fault in this.
As the reader can plainly see these complaints are not similar.
I do however see the similarity between the trusts conduct and that of Staffordhire County Council when it comes to communication and transparency/accountability.
The Trust may have become confused with a slightly similar complaint against a totally different organisation
And if the reader has half understood that lot then I have done well.
It is like working with misbehaving children or animals you have to be firm and fair with persistence
