No such thing as Human Rights

To late for me and my grandad.

Social care providers need to understand the Human Rights of carers and the people they are supposed to protect.

The Human Rights Act is not just to protect prison inmates or terrorists it is for all citizens of our country.

Carers

The number of carers in the UK is increasing as the population ages
and disabled people with serious illnesses live longer and are more
likely to live at home.

At the time of the 2011 census, figures showed that the total number
of people providing unpaid care in England was 5.5 million (10.3% of
the population). Of these people, 1.2 million (2.4%) provided more
than 50 hours of unpaid care each.

Overall experiences
of carers, which can have an effect upon their health, include:

Stress,   for example, if home care services are unreliable.

No time to eat properly.

Becoming exhausted.

Experiencing physical injury.

Experiencing emotional effects from not being consulted about
what is happening to the person for whom they care.

The above is an extract from the CQC.

Added to the above for my situation add the following below

Being left with no support when contacting social care.

Being Ignored when raising Safeguarding Issues.

Watching a loved one treated as if they had no say or opinion.

Threatened by Social Care Staff.

Having the mental capacity act used against the very person it should have protected.

Ignorance by the local authority at all times regarding transparency or accountability.

My human rights have been breached as so were my grandfathers.

If you are thinking of providing care for a loved one be prepared to undertake it on your own.

Local authorities are more focused on how much money the elderly person has either in cash or assets against how much it will cost to provide care in their own home.

In simple terms if the person owns their own home.

Care visits at home could cost a county council £200.00 pw

If the elderly person is in a care home then all costs will have to be provided by them direct, This is called self funding.

As you can see it is not in the Local Authority interest to care for the elderly at home long term.

My Grandad wished to stay in his own home until the end of his life and these people fabricated evidence and embarked on a witch hunt for their own benefit.

There is no such thing as Human Rights.
