Hi Folks
This evening I watched the dispatches program regarding the failures to identify that Baby P was at risk.
The program looked in depth at the failings not, just of the Social workers involved and those in charge it looked into the failings of all the other organisations involved.
The Police failed on many occasion's to act on information and so did the NHS Trust involved.
The simple sharing of information simply did not take place between the organisations.
In the program it came across very strongly that the Social workers involved and Mrs Shoesmith had been scapegoated.
Mrs Shoesmith was also very suprised to see how reports had been wrote about her, It was nice to see the shoe on the other foot where she was upset with how she had been treated by her peers.
In viewing I came to some conclusions.
The Government Select Committee had not been furnished with reports which would have shown the more serious failings made by the NHS and Great Ormond St Children's Hospital.
This led to the outcome being that Haringey Council and its Social workers were to blame.
In this sad world we live in those who wish to withhold evidence can and will do so to avoid accountability.
I held no compassion for Mrs Shoesmith or the dim looking social worker who apparently was entrusted to safeguard baby P.
However out of the many visits and involvement with his mother the bulk of these were with the NHS.
Who failed to Safeguard.
So Baby P who was to blame, the answer is simple all the agencies Police,NHS & Social Workers.
The reason why this program struck a chord with me was that in my own situation there was little communication if any between the agencies and what information was being passed around was unreliable and inaccurate.
If A situation of risk had existed for my Late Grandad as implied by Staffordshire County Council & the Stoke on Trent Partnership.
Nothing was done to protect him.
He was left in his own home with a supposed carer who was apparently neglecting him and abusing him.
Social Workers Police and the NHS should hang there heads in shame, Nothing has changed and lesson's have not been learnt.
There is nothing stopping this happening again
